Under the direction of the Director of Federal Government Relations, the Associate Director is responsible for planning and implementing the federal relations program related to UCSF's research mission. The Associate Director will serve as the liaison between the campus, members of Congress, their staffs, executive branch agencies, and other federal organizations by building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders to advocate for policies and federal funding to advance UCSF's research mission. This position will collaborate with the Vice Chancellor for Research, the UC Office of the President (specifically the D.C. office), and faculty and staff leadership throughout UCSF. The position also facilitates positive relationships with federal government officials and mitigates any actions, concerns, or opposition that would adversely affect the UCSF.
The Associate Director of Federal Government Relations plans, develops and implements strategies for government outreach, to include developing and advancing policy positions through liaisons with governmental staff and partnering with peer organizations and trade associations to advance mutual priorities. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WASHINGTON D.C.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $105,900 - $140,000 (Annual Rate).
