Road Mechanic/Technician                                                                                                Pay Range: $28-35/hour
As a Road Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy construction equipment at various job sites. You will work independently, with the support of our maintenance team, to ensure that all machinery is operating safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for individuals located where they can cover a territory between Rochester and Syracuse.

This position is required to perform the following functions:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems on heavy duty construction equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders and dump trucks.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment and other company vehicles as necessary.
  • Respond to service calls at various job sites and provide timely and effective repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed, including parts used and hours worked.
  • Collaborate with the equipment operators and drivers to identify potential issues and provide solutions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Keep service vehicle stocked with necessary tools and parts and ensure it is maintained and in good working order.
  • May also be responsible for performing NYS and DOT annual inspections.
Skills and Experience

Required:
  • 3 or more years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician in the construction or heavy-duty vehicle industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Possess a Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Must have own tools
  • Must be able to lift at least 100 lbs and pass a post offer, pre-employment physical assessment test
  • Ability to work overtime, with flexible hours inclusive of weekends and holidays
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or Technical/Vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a closely related field
  • Welding and Fabrication experience
  • CDL License
